Welcome to Our School

Welcome to The Children's Courtyard for North Plainfield, Illinois! We are located at the corner of 127th Street and 248th Avenue. Our early childhood education program offers classes for children ages six weeks through twelve years in our Infant, Toddlers, Two's, Early Preschool, Preschool, Pre-K, Junior Kindergarten, Before and After School programs. We also offer a Preschool/Pre-K Select 3-hour program (9:15am-12:15pm) for children 3.5-4.5 years old which follows the Plainfield District 202 Holiday Calendar.

The talented staff members at our school have many years of experience in the field and partake in various training opportunities throughout the year including CPR & First Aid, to maintain their DCFS required annual training. Each set of classroom teachers puts their special flair into their childcare curriculum which is based on High Scope philosophy!

We’re committed to keeping you connected throughout the day while your child is in our care. Families have access to live streaming video of their child’s classroom, plus other real-time updates, with our exclusive mobile app for families, Sprout About. Assessments are completed throughout the year, and we offer family conferences twice a year to share your child’s progress in the program.

Janaye Resendiz, Director

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Science with concentration in Child Psychology and Health

Certifications: CPR & First Aid, ServSafe Food Handler

Janaye Resendiz began with Learning Care Group in 2018 as a preschool teacher with the La Petite brand and grow into the manager she is today. She joined Children's Courtyard in 2024. Janaye is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children and their families. Her goal is to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth of children and working with staff to create a warm and inspiring environment.

Gayle Burgher, School Education Manager

Education: Bachelor of Science Family & Consumer Sciences (Child & Family)

Certifications: CPR & First Aid, ServSafe Food Handler, Director Credential Level 1

Gayle has worked in the Early Childhood Education field since 1994. As a teacher, she has experience working with toddlers and preschoolers. She has 25 years of experience working in programs in various center leadership roles. Children are our future and she believes that having a solid foundation built in the early years helps give children the advantage in their formal school years and the rest of their life. Gayle is also committed to helping teachers grow in their profession.

Education: Bachelor Science in Elementary Education with Early Education & Kindergarten Endorsements

Amy has been in the Early Childhood Education field since 1996 and has experience working with all age groups. Amy started here in 2014! Amy is the Safety Captain and one of our school bus drivers. She loves to work with children and families. She can't wait to help your children learn and grow!

Rose Cork, Team Lead

Education: Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Human Development & Family Sciences

Certifications: CPR & First Aid, CNA, ServSafe Food Handler

Rose Cork attends Northern Illinois University, an Associate's Degree from Eastern Gateway Community College and a CNA from Kishwaukee Community College. Rose worked in health care for seven years prior to joining us at the Children's Courtyard in 2023. I am excited to join the world of Early Childhood Education and hope to make a positive impact on the children, families and teachers in the center.
